Catalina Bar & Grill has certainly lived up to its slogan "Nothing But The Best In Jazz" by presenting a veritable Who's Who of jazz legends such as Dizzie Gillespie, Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Ray Brown, Joe Williams, Max Roach, Carmen McRae, Betty Carter, Ron Carter, Joe Henderson, Benny Carter,Tony Williams, Joe Zawinul, Marcus Miller, Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Joshua Redman, Michael Brecker, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jimmy Scott and many more."

It also hosts and supports The Young Artist Jazz Series, produced by Barbara Brighton, which began on March 31, 1996 with the goal of providing a forum for local young jazz artists to showcase their talents in front of a live audience, while giving the community the opportunity to support and enjoy these musicians. The performers are selected mostly from recommendations made by teachers or musicians in mentoring positions.
Catalina Bar & Grill has generously supported this program by providing the club, L.A.'s foremost jazz venue,
as the official home for the series."

Aqua Lounge

In the words of Peter Pocsaji, Managing Partner of AQUA Restaurant and Lounge: "What we have here is about 10,000 sq feet venue on Rodeo Drive in the heart of Beverly Hills. Rodeo Drive is the thorough fare of Beverly Hills. It is like a Wilshire Boulevard for L.A. The street is never closed for any events because it is so busy.

Most importantly, we are THE only venue in Beverly Hills where you can come and dance and we also have a stage to host performances. Aqua Lounge is the only place the city of Beverly Hills granted a dancing license to. We have no competition.

Our guests range in age from 21 to 60 something. We do a lot of family events such as Bar mitzvahs; pre-wedding parties and weddings; we also host corporate events and movie release parties."

Peter continues: "Since we’re entirely underground (under the street level) the interior design posed somewhat of a challenge but we’ve decided that since we are under the sea level an aquatic theme would be most appropriate. So we’re featuring numerous fish tanks, some double sided, so the visitors have the feeling of being under water and surrounded by live fish."
